Your data stays on your machine.

Real-Time Collaboration

Share links with your friends to edit or view your maps directly from their web browsers.

They don't need to buy or install any software, and you don't need to configure port-forwarding (though you can if you are so inclined).

Boundless

The map boundaries extend as you add more tiles, only limited by how much map you can fit on your computer.

Smart Ruler

The ruler tool can estimate travel distance based on terrain and chart the shortest path between two locations. Distance and time units are configurable per-map.

Add-Ons

HexScrawl comes with dozens of core terrain types, map markers, and trim options like rivers, cliffs, and roads.

You can also easily create and install third party asset bundles for any of the above.

Full Markdown Support

Embed markdown notes on regions, hexes, and point-of-interest markers. Notes embedded in the map can link internally to other map hexes, and can be easily configured to link to an external wiki or Obsidian^* notes vault associated with your map.

High-Resolution Exports

Export high-resolution images of your map (each tile of the core assets is 128p).

Creator Friendly

You always have full ownerships of maps you create with HexScrawl using core assets, and can distribute them however you wish (including commercially). HexScrawl does not apply watermarks to map exports, and you don't have to provide credit or attribution. Third party asset bundles may have their own terms and conditions.

Making Asset Bundles. You have ownership of and are free to license and distribute asset bundles made with your own art however you wish, including commercially.
